2What this policy covers

It covers this website, the WhatsApp messages we send from the account named Metal Store, and the enquiries and orders we handle by email and telephone. It does not cover any other website we link to — those have their own policies.

3What this website collects

Nothing. These pages carry no forms, no sign-in, no shopping basket, no analytics and no advertising. We set no cookies and we do not track you between visits or across other sites.

Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs — the IP address a request came from, the page asked for and the time — as every web server does. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and for nothing else.

4What we collect when you contact us

When you email, call or message us about a requirement, we keep what you send us so that we can answer it and, if it becomes an order, supply and account for it:

• your name and the business you represent;
• your mobile number, email address and delivery location;
• the materials, grades, quantities and dates you asked about;
• the correspondence between us, including quotations we issued;
• where we supply you, the invoice and the GST details that must appear on it.

We ask for what a quotation needs and no more. We do not collect financial account details through this website at all.

5WhatsApp messages

We contact customers and prospective customers on WhatsApp under the display name Metal Store, using the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta.

• What we hold: your mobile number, your name where you have given it, and the messages exchanged with us.
• Where it came from: a number you gave us directly, or one given to us by a business contact or event organiser on the basis that you agreed to be contacted.
• Why: to send information you asked for, to quote on an enquiry, and to answer questions about an order.
• We do not sell your number, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

You can stop the messages at any time. Reply STOP to any message, or write to us, and we will remove your number. Messages sent through WhatsApp are also subject to Meta’s own privacy terms.

6Why we are allowed to use it

We use your information because you have asked us to quote or supply, because we have a contract with you, because you consented to being contacted, or because the law requires us to keep a record. Where we rely on your consent you may withdraw it, and we will stop — except where a record must be kept for tax or company law.

7Who else sees it

• Meta Platforms, for messages sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform.
• Our hosting and email providers, who process data on our instructions to run the site and deliver our mail.
• Transporters and suppliers, where a delivery address or contact number is needed to fulfil an order — and only the part they need for it.
• Our accountants and auditors, where a transaction record has to be examined.
• Government authorities, where we are required by law to provide it.

We do not sell personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

8Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes we will say so here before it does, and ask for your agreement where the law requires it.

9How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become orders are kept while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records relating to a completed sale are kept for the period Indian tax and company law requires, which is longer than we would otherwise keep them. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.

10Where it is kept, and how it is protected

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold: access is limited to people who need it to do their work, and information is encrypted in transit. Some of our providers store data outside India; where they do, we use providers who commit to protecting it to a comparable standard. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

11Your rights

You may ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you, and why;
• correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
• delete what we hold, where we are not required to keep it;
• stop contacting you, at any time and for any reason.

Write to us and we will respond. If we cannot delete something because the law requires us to keep it, we will tell you which record and why.

12Children

This website and our services are meant for businesses and for adults. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe we hold such information, tell us and we will remove it.

13Other websites

Where we link to another website, that site has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for what it does with your information. Read its policy before giving it anything.

14Complaints, and who to address them to

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, write to us at the email address or the registered office in section 1, marking your message for the attention of the grievance officer. We will acknowledge it and tell you what we intend to do about it.

15Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we do changes, and change the date at the top. This policy describes our practice as at that date, not what we may do in future.
